My Mom, Sister and I have a pet boutique, Post Falls Pampurred Pet Boutique. We are a family owned small business that caters to spoiled pets. I'm also a crazy mom to 4 kids.
I played sports some when I was really young but never really got into any of them. I didn't really start to get active until after I had my third baby. I pretty much just worked out on my own and even tried Crossfit in the past. My sister [Amanda] joined Farmgirlfit when the Coeur d’Alene location opened, so that's how I first heard about it.
Just before I joined, I had recently had a baby. My husband works out of town a lot and I'm busy taking care of 4 kids, which I LOVE, but I needed something for myself. I was ready to start getting active again and thought about FGF, but I'm a little shy so starting on my own felt a little intimidating. My best friend Crystal texted me one night saying we should join and I saw it as an obvious sign. So, the next week we started and haven't looked back.
My kids. Especially my two young daughters. In this day in age there's so much pressure to look a certain way. It's all over TV, magazines, and school. I hope to show them that being fit is more than just a number on the scale. It doesn't have a size. Being fit is being strong, making healthy choices, and working hard to be a better version of you, no matter what pant size or age you are.
This is hard to pick one since I feel like I've gotten so much stronger than when I started 12 weeks ago. The biggest would be my plate pushes. The first time I did one I couldn't even make it to the end of the hall. But by the next time I did them, I did 5 no problem! Just getting stronger is a huge accomplishment. Last week I split jerked 95# and when I started, I think I did maybe 40#.
Overall it's to get stronger and become the best version of me I can be. Short term wise, I'd love to be able to do one unassisted pull-up.
Deadlifts. It's so fun loading the bar and being able to get it off the ground. I love feeling my hamstrings and butt getting sore because then I know I'm making muscles.
Box jumps and of course burpees :)

Everyone encouraging each other. I love seeing all different shapes, sizes and ages. It reminds me how we are all different but united in the same journey. Whenever I think there's no way I'm going to be able to do a Grind, I look over and see another girl beasting through it and it gives me the strength to keep going and finish. No matter what your time is, everyone else cheers you on and you walk out the front doors feeling stronger on the inside as well as the out.
I have many lol. I've hit my face doing presses, got bar punched in the throat doing cleans, dropped a 15# medicine ball on my head before I realized it may be too heavy, and most embarrassing to date, I forgot to shave my armpits. Now before you think that's not all the bad, it was 4 days’ worth of not shaving. I love that no one judges me!
Keeping busy as a mom occupies most of my time. When I have time and the weather permits, you can find me on my horse. I'm a farm girl in my normal life. I live on 16 acres where I raise pigs, have sheep, llamas, a steer, goat and a horse. I'm a volunteer 4-H leader and 3 of my 4 kids raise livestock to show at the county fair. I was a 4-H-er growing up and it's pretty special that my kids are doing the same thing.
Summer time, right about 7pm sitting outside having a glass of wine watching my horse graze. It's quiet and just beautiful.

Taco Bell! And sour candy.
Keep coming. Stay consistent and before long you will become addicted. No matter how scary The Grind that day seems (or is!), I've never seen anyone puke, cry or die. :)
